The Self Disclosure
Notes from the intersection of the clinic and the cross.
They don’t teach you in grad school how to hold your own heart while you’re helping others mend theirs.
As a therapist, I have spent years studying the architecture of trauma, the science of attachment, and the pathways to healing. I’ve sat across from hundreds of souls, offering the tools of my trade. But recently, the work became personal.
I am currently navigating the wreckage of the most profound heartbreak of my life.
It is a strange paradox: to be the one with the clinical answers, yet the one asking “Why?” in the dark. It’s the realization that while my training can explain the why, only my faith in the Great Physician can carry the weight.
Alittleselfdisclosure is a space born from that tension. It’s a repository of clinical insights, theological reflections, and the raw, unpolished notes of a healer who is, right now, the patient.
I’m here to disclose the truth: that being a Christian and a therapist doesn’t make you immune to the shatter. It just gives you a specific set of tools to pick up the pieces.
If you are hurting, if you are unlearning a love that broke you, or if you are just looking for a soft place to land, welcome. You aren’t alone.
We are learning. We are growing. We are being redeemed.
